WELCOME TO THE SOUND-UNIVERSE OF CHERRY SUNKIST

The Austrian musician CHERRY SUNKIST presents her first album „OK UNIVERSE“ appearing in November 2007 on the Viennese label 22.Jahrhundertfuchs.

Since three years the video-artist and musician Karin Fisslthaler, who lives in Linz/ Upper Austria, has been producing and performing as a solo-musician under the catchy name of CHERRY SUNKIST. Her debut-album „OK UNIVERSE“ will be released on 12“vinyl and CD in November 2007 on the young Vienna based Weird-Electronica-Label 22. Jahrhundertfuchs, which was founded for doing musical research in the field between experiment and pop.
Equipped with laptop, drumcomputer, synthesizer, electric guitar and voice CHERRY SUNKIST provides an insight into a multi-faceted universe, consisting of beats and electrified sounds, that are underlined by a distinctively modulated voice. The eleven tracks on „OK UNIVERSE“ range from Ambient-soundcollages to melodious, pop-oriented songs, in which her personal and political opinions are clearly expressed.

One of the highlights of „OK UNIVERSE“ is the song „Nameless Dogs“. This song is a fantastic sound-carpet made out of endless different sounds and reaches its wonderful compactness with the help of a stirringly sung line.
„Nameless Dogs“ was already released on the 3-CD-compilation „Girl Monster“ in 2006 on Chicks On Speed Records which contains music of female musicians from punk to contemporary electro.

Cherry Sunkist's very aesthetic live-shows are accompanied by self-made visuals. The video for the track „Age Delay (nuit)“, which is named after a creme against wrinkles, was made out of an early 80ies video about gymnastics for the face.
